AI-suggested
A patch is available in freeipmi version 1.6.20-1.el9_8. Users and administrators should update to this fixed version to remediate the vulnerabilities. No additional mitigation steps are indicated by the vendor advisory.
Description
Multiple vulnerabilities in freeipmi, an IPMI remote console and system management software, allow arbitrary code execution and denial of service via stack-based buffer overflows and malformed Fujitsu System Event Log responses. These issues affect versions prior to 1.6.20-1.el9_8. A security update to version 1.6.20-1.el9_8 addresses these vulnerabilities.
