AI-suggested

Until a fix is available, users should be aware of this vulnerability when using OAuthLib's device workflow and consider mitigating controls such as restricting client IDs or disabling the device grant type for public clients if possible.

Description

OAuthLib contains a vulnerability in its implementation of the OAuth 2.0 device authorization grant (RFC 8628). Specifically, the token endpoint does not validate the device_code parameter, allowing an attacker who knows a valid client ID for a public client enabled for the device workflow to obtain a bearer token without a valid device_code. This affects versions of vdirsyncer from 0.19.3_3 onward.
