Description

A vulnerability in openclaw-cli versions up to 2026.3.24 allows BlueBubbles group reaction events to bypass the requireMention gate and enqueue agent-visible system events in groups that should be mention-gated. This issue was fixed in version 2026.3.25 by applying the reaction path to the same mention gate as normal group messages.

Technical Analysis

The openclaw-cli package versions up to 2026.3.24 have a flaw where BlueBubbles group reaction events bypass the requireMention restriction, causing agent-visible system events to be enqueued in mention-gated groups improperly. The vulnerability was verified on version 2026.3.24 and fixed on the main branch by commit f8c98630785288cc1f1d0893503ef3b653a3cede, which aligns the reaction event path with the mention gate applied to normal group messages.

Potential Impact

This vulnerability allows reaction events in BlueBubbles groups to bypass mention gating controls, potentially exposing system events to agents in groups that should restrict visibility unless explicitly mentioned. This could lead to unintended information disclosure within mention-gated groups.

Mitigation Recommendations

A patch is available and was introduced in version 2026.3.25. Users should upgrade to version 2026.3.25 or later to remediate this issue.
