Description

OpenClaw CLI versions before 2026.4.10 have a vulnerability where certain browser press/type interaction routes lack complete navigation guard coverage. This flaw allows some interactions to trigger navigation without fully enforcing the server-side request forgery (SSRF) policy. The issue was fixed in version 2026.4.10 and later.

Technical Analysis

The OpenClaw CLI package for npm versions prior to 2026.4.10 contains a vulnerability (CVE-2026-43580) in which browser press/type style interactions can cause navigation events that bypass complete navigation guard enforcement. This results in incomplete SSRF policy enforcement after such interactions. The fix involved implementing a three-phase interaction navigation guard covering navigation-capable interactions, including pressKey and type submit flows. The vulnerability is patched starting from version 2026.4.10, with the latest release 2026.4.14 including the fix.

Potential Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability could allow navigation triggered by certain browser interactions to bypass complete SSRF policy enforcement, potentially enabling unauthorized server-side requests. The CVSS score is 7.7 (high severity), indicating a significant impact on confidentiality without affecting integrity or availability.

Mitigation Recommendations

Users should upgrade to OpenClaw CLI version 2026.4.10 or later to apply the official fix. The latest npm release 2026.4.14 includes the patch. No additional mitigation steps are indicated beyond upgrading.
