Description

OpenClaw CLI versions prior to 2026.4.14 have a vulnerability where browser snapshot and screenshot routes may expose internal page content after navigation. Authenticated users could exploit this by accessing snapshot, screenshot, or tab routes that do not properly validate the final browser target, potentially revealing content from internal or restricted pages. This issue is fixed in version 2026.4.14.

Technical Analysis

The OpenClaw CLI browser snapshot, screenshot, and tab routes did not consistently validate the final browser target after route-driven navigation. This flaw allowed authenticated browser tool callers to access content from internal or disallowed pages in restrictive browser SSRF configurations. The vulnerability was addressed by re-checking route results against the configured browser SSRF policy before returning page content. The fix was implemented in commit b75ad800a59009fc47eaa3471410f69046150e59 and released in version 2026.4.14.

Potential Impact

Authenticated users with access to the browser tool could exploit this vulnerability to view internal or otherwise restricted page content that should not be accessible, potentially leading to information disclosure. The CVSS score of 7.7 (high) reflects the network attack vector, low attack complexity, required privileges, no user interaction, scope change, and high confidentiality impact without integrity or availability impact.

Mitigation Recommendations

Users should upgrade to OpenClaw CLI version 2026.4.14 or later, which includes the official fix for this vulnerability. No additional mitigation steps are required once the upgrade is applied.
