Openclaw cli: OpenClaw: Collect-mode queue batches could reuse the last sender authorization context (CVE-2026-43535)

Published: 08/13/2026 (08/13/2026, 17:21:32 UTC)
Source: GCVE Database
Product: openclaw-cli

Description

A vulnerability in openclaw-cli versions before 2026.4.14 allows collect-mode queue batches to reuse the last sender's authorization context. This causes messages from different senders to be processed with the authorization context of the final sender in the batch, potentially granting earlier messages elevated privileges. The issue is fixed in version 2026.4.14 by ensuring batches are split by sender authorization context before dispatch.

Technical Analysis

The openclaw-cli package prior to version 2026.4.14 contains a flaw where collect-mode queue batches could reuse the last sender's authorization context. This means that queued messages from different senders might be drained as a single batch using the final sender's authorization context, allowing earlier messages to inherit a more privileged trust state. The fix, introduced in commit 43d4be902755c970b3d15608679761877718da69 and PR #66024, splits collect-mode batches by sender authorization context before dispatch to preserve each message's individual trust state.

Potential Impact

Messages from different senders processed in collect-mode queue batches could inherit the authorization context of the last sender, potentially elevating privileges of earlier messages in the batch. This could lead to unauthorized actions being performed under a more privileged context. The CVSS score of 6.8 reflects a medium severity with high confidentiality and integrity impact but no availability impact.

Mitigation Recommendations

Users should upgrade to openclaw-cli version 2026.4.14 or later, which includes the official fix for this vulnerability. The fix is included in the npm release 2026.4.14. No additional mitigation steps are required once the upgrade is applied.
