Source: GCVE Database
Product: openclaw-cli

Description

OpenClaw CLI versions before 2026.3.31 contain a low-severity access control vulnerability where the diffs viewer misclassifies proxied remote requests as local loopback when the 'allowRemoteViewer' setting is disabled. This misclassification could lead to unintended access control behavior. The issue is fixed in version 2026.3.31.

Technical Analysis

The OpenClaw CLI diffs viewer component incorrectly identifies proxied remote requests as originating from the local loopback interface when the 'allowRemoteViewer' configuration is disabled. This results in a low-severity access control flaw that could allow proxied remote requests to be treated as local, potentially bypassing intended restrictions. The vulnerability affects versions from 2026.1.29 up to but not including 2026.3.31. The issue was fixed in version 2026.3.31 by commit 30a1690323088fd291abd11643a264a6828a002c.

Potential Impact

The vulnerability allows proxied remote requests to be misclassified as local loopback requests, potentially bypassing access controls that rely on this classification. The impact is limited to confidentiality (partial information disclosure) with no integrity or availability impact. The CVSS v3.1 base score is 4.0 (medium severity) reflecting low attack vector (local), low complexity, no privileges required, no user interaction, and limited impact.

Mitigation Recommendations

Users should upgrade to OpenClaw CLI version 2026.3.31 or later, where the vulnerability is fixed. The fix is already released and available. No additional mitigation is required once the upgrade is applied.
