Technical Analysis

The OpenClaw CLI package (npm) contains a vulnerability (CVE-2026-41348) in versions from 2026.1.29 up to but not including 2026.3.31. Discord native slash and autocomplete command paths bypass the group DM channel allowlist, enabling authorized users to bypass channel restrictions within group DMs. The impact is limited to users already authorized in Discord and does not allow crossing stronger trust boundaries. The vulnerability was fixed in commit 8fdb19676ab44cf85d47ee13c578195f2e527591, released in version 2026.3.31.

Potential Impact

The vulnerability allows authorized Discord users to bypass group DM channel restrictions via slash commands and autocomplete paths. This does not enable unauthorized access or crossing of stronger trust boundaries, limiting the impact to a moderate confidentiality and integrity concern within already authorized user groups.

Mitigation Recommendations

A patch is available and should be applied by upgrading OpenClaw CLI to version 2026.3.31 or later. Users running versions <=2026.3.28 are vulnerable. No additional mitigation is required beyond applying the official fix.
