Published: 08/13/2026 (08/13/2026, 17:21:32 UTC)
Source: GCVE Database
Product: openclaw-cli

Description

A vulnerability in OpenClaw CLI versions before 2026.4.20 causes Feishu card-action callbacks to misclassify direct messages (DMs) as group conversations. This misclassification leads to skipping enforcement of restrictive DM policies, allowing senders in Feishu DMs to trigger card-action flows that should be blocked. The issue is specific to Feishu card-action handling and has been fixed in version 2026.4.20.

Technical Analysis

OpenClaw CLI versions prior to 2026.4.20 contain a flaw in Feishu card-action callback processing where DM conversations are incorrectly classified as group conversations. This results in bypassing the dmPolicy enforcement intended to restrict certain card-action flows in DMs. The fix involves resolving the Feishu card-action chat type before dispatch, including an API lookup when stored context is unavailable, to correctly distinguish DMs from group chats and prevent policy bypass.

Potential Impact

The vulnerability allows a sender in a Feishu direct message to trigger card-action flows that should be blocked by restrictive DM policies. This could lead to unintended execution of card actions in DMs that are meant to be restricted. The impact is limited to Feishu card-action handling and is assessed as medium severity.

Mitigation Recommendations

A patch is available in OpenClaw CLI version 2026.4.20 that fixes the chat type classification issue for Feishu card actions. Users should upgrade to version 2026.4.20 or later to remediate this vulnerability.
