Source: GCVE Database
Product: openclaw-cli

Description

The Openclaw CLI npm package versions up to 2026.2.17 contain a server-side request forgery (SSRF) vulnerability in the cron webhook delivery mechanism. The vulnerability arises because the code uses fetch() directly without SSRF policy checks, allowing webhook targets to access internal or private endpoints. This issue was fixed in versions after 2026.2.17 with specific commits addressing the problem.

Technical Analysis

Openclaw CLI versions <= 2026.2.17 have an SSRF vulnerability in the cron webhook delivery code located in src/gateway/server-cron.ts. The vulnerability occurs because the fetch() function is called directly without enforcing SSRF protection policies, enabling attackers to cause requests to internal or metadata endpoints that should be restricted. The vulnerability is tracked as CVE-2026-27488 and was fixed in commits 99db4d13e and 35851cdaf. The affected versions are all versions prior to 2026.7.1.

Potential Impact

An attacker able to control webhook targets can exploit this vulnerability to send unauthorized requests to internal, private, or metadata endpoints that are normally protected from external access. This can lead to information disclosure or other impacts depending on the internal endpoints accessible via SSRF.

Mitigation Recommendations

A patch is available and should be applied. Users should upgrade to version 2026.7.1 or later of the openclaw npm package where the SSRF vulnerability has been fixed. No additional mitigation steps are required beyond applying the official fix.
