Source: GCVE Database
Product: openclaw-cli

Description

OpenClaw CLI versions prior to 2026.2.14 contain a local file disclosure vulnerability in the Feishu extension's sendMediaFeishu function. This flaw allows attacker-controlled mediaUrl parameters to be treated as local filesystem paths, enabling unauthorized reading of local files. The vulnerability is fixed in version 2026.2.14 by removing direct local file reads and enforcing local-root restrictions through hardened media loading helpers.

Technical Analysis

The Feishu extension in OpenClaw CLI versions before 2026.2.14 allows the sendMediaFeishu function to interpret attacker-controlled mediaUrl values as local filesystem paths. This permits an attacker who can influence tool calls or perform prompt injection to read arbitrary local files by specifying paths such as /etc/passwd. The vulnerability is addressed in OpenClaw version 2026.2.14 by routing media loading through hardened helpers that enforce local-root restrictions, preventing direct local file reads.

Potential Impact

An attacker able to control the mediaUrl parameter can exfiltrate local files from the system running OpenClaw CLI, potentially exposing sensitive information. The vulnerability does not affect integrity or availability but has high confidentiality impact. No known exploits in the wild have been reported.

Mitigation Recommendations

Upgrade OpenClaw CLI to version 2026.2.14 or later. This update removes the vulnerable code path and enforces local-root restrictions on media loading, effectively mitigating the local file disclosure risk.
