Source: GCVE Database
Product: openclaw-cli

Description

OpenClaw CLI versions up to 2026.4.7 contain a vulnerability that allows browser SSRF policy bypass via interaction-triggered navigation. This means that certain user interactions can cause navigations that circumvent the normal server-side request forgery (SSRF) navigation checks. The issue is specific to the OpenClaw trust model and does not assume multi-tenant service boundaries. The vulnerability has been fixed in version 2026.4.8.

Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-41912 describes a browser SSRF policy bypass vulnerability in the OpenClaw CLI package (npm) where interaction-triggered navigations can bypass the usual SSRF navigation checks. This vulnerability affects versions from 2026.1.29 up to but not including 2026.4.8. The fix was committed and verified in the main branch and released in version 2026.4.8.

Potential Impact

The vulnerability allows bypassing browser SSRF navigation policies through user interactions, potentially enabling unauthorized navigation requests that would normally be blocked by SSRF protections. The advisory scope is limited to the OpenClaw trust model and does not consider multi-tenant environments. No known exploits in the wild have been reported.

Mitigation Recommendations

Users should upgrade to OpenClaw CLI version 2026.4.8 or later, where the vulnerability has been fixed. The fix has been verified with regression tests targeting the affected security boundary.
