Technical Analysis

The OpenClaw CLI (npm package) versions >=2026.1.29 and <2026.3.31 contain a vulnerability (CVE-2026-41330) where host execution environment overrides fail to enforce proxy, TLS, Docker, and Git TLS controls. This flaw was present in the shipped version 2026.3.28 and was addressed by commit 4d912e04519b4bd53b248437c53748cdebce9a41 on 2026-03-31. The fix is included starting from version 2026.3.31.

Potential Impact

The vulnerability allows host exec environment overrides to bypass important security controls related to proxy settings, TLS configurations, Docker, and Git TLS. This could lead to reduced security posture in environments relying on these controls, potentially exposing communications or operations to interception or manipulation. The CVSS score is 4.4 (medium severity), indicating limited confidentiality and integrity impact with no availability impact.

Mitigation Recommendations

Upgrade OpenClaw CLI to version 2026.3.31 or later, which contains the official fix for this vulnerability. Versions <=2026.3.28 are vulnerable. No other mitigation is indicated or required according to the maintainer's advisory.
