Published: 08/13/2026 (08/13/2026, 17:21:32 UTC)
Source: GCVE Database
Product: openclaw-cli

Description

OpenClaw CLI versions prior to 2026.3.22 had an issue where queued node actions were not revalidated against the current command policy upon delivery. This allowed stale allowlists or declarations to persist even after policy tightening, potentially permitting actions that should have been disallowed under updated policies. The vulnerability was fixed in version 2026.3.22 and later versions.

Technical Analysis

The vulnerability in OpenClaw CLI (CVE-2026-35648) involves stale policy enforcement for queued node actions. Specifically, queued actions were not revalidated against the current command policy when they were later delivered, allowing outdated allowlists or declarations to survive policy changes. This flaw was addressed by adding revalidation logic in the code to ensure queued actions comply with the current allowlist and declared command set at delivery time. The fix was introduced in version 2026.3.22.

Potential Impact

The impact is limited to potential unauthorized execution of node actions that were previously allowed but later disallowed due to policy tightening. The CVSS score is 3.7 (low severity), indicating limited impact with no confidentiality or availability effects, only a low integrity impact. There are no known exploits in the wild.

Mitigation Recommendations

A patch is available and should be applied by upgrading to OpenClaw CLI version 2026.3.22 or later. This update includes the fix that revalidates queued node actions against the current policy at delivery time, preventing stale allowlists from being exploited.
