Openclaw cli: OpenClaw: MS Teams fileConsent/invoke missing conversation binding allowed cross-conversation pending-upload consumption
Description
The openclaw npm package prior to version 2026.2.25 contains a vulnerability in the MS Teams file-consent flow where pending uploads could be completed or canceled across different conversations due to missing conversation binding verification. This allows an attacker with a valid uploadId to manipulate pending uploads in other conversations. The issue is fixed in version 2026.2.25 by enforcing conversation ID matching before processing upload acceptance or cancellation.

Technical Analysis
In the openclaw MS Teams file-consent flow, pending uploads were authorized solely by uploadId without verifying that the invoke conversation matched the conversation that created the pending upload. This missing conversation binding allowed an attacker who obtained a valid uploadId within its TTL to trigger cross-conversation upload completion or cancellation. The vulnerability was fixed by binding accept and decline handling to a normalized conversation ID match before consuming the pending upload state. The affected versions are openclaw npm package versions from 2026.1.29 up to but excluding 2026.2.25. The fix was released in version 2026.2.25.
Potential Impact
An attacker with a valid uploadId could complete or cancel pending uploads in conversations other than the one that created the upload, potentially disrupting or manipulating file consent flows across conversations. This could lead to unauthorized acceptance or denial of file uploads in MS Teams contexts using openclaw.
Mitigation Recommendations
Upgrade the openclaw npm package to version 2026.2.25 or later, which includes the fix that enforces conversation binding verification before processing pending uploads. No other mitigation is required as the patch addresses the vulnerability directly.
