Openclaw cli: OpenClaw: QQBot admin commands could skip DM-only and allowFrom policy (CVE-2026-34507)
Description
A vulnerability in openclaw-cli's QQBot admin commands allows bypassing DM-only and allowFrom policies. This enables a QQBot sender to execute admin commands without the intended access restrictions. The issue affects versions from 2026.1.29 up to but not including 2026.4.29. The vulnerability depends on the operator's configuration and whether untrusted input can reach the affected command path. A patch is available in version 2026.4.29. Until patched, disabling exported QQBot admin commands or restricting QQBot access is recommended.

Technical Analysis
In openclaw-cli versions >=2026.1.29 and <2026.4.29, QQBot admin commands could bypass the DM-only and allowFrom policy checks. This means that a QQBot sender capable of triggering the exported command could route admin commands without the QQBot-specific access restrictions. The vulnerability is scoped to this feature and does not affect the overall trusted-operator model of OpenClaw. The practical impact depends on the operator's configuration and whether lower-trust inputs can reach the vulnerable command path. The issue is fixed starting with version 2026.4.29.
Potential Impact
When the affected feature is enabled and reachable, an attacker could execute QQBot admin commands from contexts or senders that should have been blocked by DM-only and allowFrom policies. This could lead to unauthorized administrative actions depending on the operator's configuration and exposure of the vulnerable command path.
Mitigation Recommendations
A patch is available in openclaw-cli version 2026.4.29. Until upgrading, disable exported QQBot admin commands or restrict QQBot access to mitigate risk. Additionally, keep channel and tool allowlists narrow, avoid sharing one Gateway between mutually untrusted users, and disable the affected feature when not needed.
