Source: GCVE Database
Product: openclaw-cli

Description

A vulnerability in openclaw-cli versions before 2026.4.12 allows QQBot reply media URL handling to trigger server-side request forgery (SSRF) and re-upload fetched bytes. This occurs because QQBot media URLs were treated as trusted sources, enabling SSRF fetches whose responses were then re-uploaded. The issue is fixed in version 2026.4.12 and later.

Technical Analysis

The openclaw-cli package prior to version 2026.4.12 contains a vulnerability (CVE-2026-43526) where QQBot reply media URLs are improperly trusted, allowing SSRF attacks. An attacker could exploit this by causing the bot to fetch arbitrary URLs, with the fetched content subsequently re-uploaded through the channel. The fix involves routing QQBot remote media fetches through an SSRF-guarded media fetching mechanism and enforcing an explicit URL allowlist policy. The vulnerability has a CVSS 3.1 score of 8.2, indicating high severity.

Potential Impact

An attacker can leverage the vulnerability to perform SSRF attacks via QQBot reply media URLs, potentially accessing internal or restricted network resources. The fetched content is then re-uploaded through the bot's channel, which could lead to unauthorized data exposure or manipulation. The integrity impact is low, and availability is not affected.

Mitigation Recommendations

Users should upgrade openclaw-cli to version 2026.4.12 or later. The fix is included starting from 2026.4.12, with the latest npm release 2026.4.14 containing the patch. No additional mitigation is required once upgraded.
