Published: 08/13/2026 (08/13/2026, 17:21:32 UTC)
Source: GCVE Database
Product: openclaw-cli

Description

The Openclaw CLI's built-in session_status tool failed to enforce session visibility boundaries, allowing sandboxed subagents to access or modify session state outside their own sandbox. This vulnerability affects versions from 2026.1.29 up to but not including 2026.3.11. It was fixed in version 2026.3.11 and later. The flaw permits a sandboxed child session to read or update parent or sibling session data, violating intended isolation.

Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-32918 describes a vulnerability in the Openclaw CLI's session_status tool where sandboxed subagents could bypass session-visibility restrictions by supplying another session's sessionKey. This allowed unauthorized reading and modification of session state outside the subagent's sandbox scope. The issue affects Openclaw versions >=2026.1.29 and <2026.3.11. The vulnerability was addressed in version 2026.3.11 by enforcing session visibility checks before accessing or mutating session data.

Potential Impact

An attacker controlling a sandboxed subagent could read sensitive data from parent or sibling sessions and modify the target session's persisted model override. This compromises confidentiality and integrity of session data within the Openclaw CLI environment. The vulnerability does not impact availability.

Mitigation Recommendations

A patch is available and should be applied. The issue is fixed in Openclaw version 2026.3.11 and later releases such as 2026.3.12. Users should upgrade to these versions to ensure session visibility boundaries are properly enforced. No additional mitigation steps are indicated by the vendor.
