Source: GCVE Database
Product: openclaw-cli

Description

The OpenClaw CLI's skills.status method could leak sensitive configuration secrets to clients with operator.read permissions by exposing raw resolved config values. This vulnerability affects versions up to 2026.2.13 and was fixed in version 2026.2.14 by removing raw config values from the output and narrowing config requirements. The issue could expose secrets such as Discord bot tokens to unauthorized read-scoped clients.

Technical Analysis

The vulnerability in OpenClaw CLI (CVE-2026-26326) involves the skills.status gateway method returning raw resolved configuration values in the configChecks array for skill requires.config paths. Because skills.status is accessible to clients with operator.read permissions, these clients could obtain sensitive secrets like Discord bot tokens without needing operator.admin or config.* access. The issue was fixed by stopping the inclusion of raw config values in the requirement checks and narrowing the Discord skill requirement to only the token key. The fix was released in version 2026.2.14.

Potential Impact

Clients with operator.read permissions could access sensitive secrets such as Discord bot tokens through the skills.status method, potentially leading to unauthorized access or misuse of these secrets. This exposure occurs without requiring higher privileges like operator.admin or config.* access.

Mitigation Recommendations

Upgrade OpenClaw CLI to version 2026.2.14 or later, which removes raw resolved config values from skills.status output and narrows config requirements. Additionally, rotate any Discord tokens that may have been exposed to read-scoped clients to prevent misuse.
