Description

OpenClaw CLI versions from 2026.1.29 up to but not including 2026.3.31 contain a Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) vulnerability due to an unguarded fetch() function used in the Marketplace Plugin Download and Ollama Model Discovery features. This vulnerability has been assigned CVE-2026-41302 and has a medium severity with a CVSS score of 6.3. The issue was fixed in version 2026.3.31. The Ollama-related SSRF is considered less critical due to operator configuration and overlapping weaker trust models. No known exploits are reported in the wild.

Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-41302 is an SSRF vulnerability in the openclaw CLI package affecting versions >=2026.1.29 and <2026.3.31. The vulnerability arises from an unguarded fetch() call in the Marketplace Plugin Download and Ollama Model Discovery components, allowing an attacker to induce the server to make unintended HTTP requests. The vulnerability was addressed in commit 8deb9522f3d2680820588b190adb4a2a52f3670b and fixed in version 2026.3.31. The Ollama portion of the vulnerability is considered less severe due to its operator-configured nature and overlapping trust model issues.

Potential Impact

Successful exploitation of this SSRF vulnerability can lead to unauthorized server-side HTTP requests, potentially exposing internal resources or sensitive data. The CVSS score of 6.3 reflects a medium severity with high confidentiality impact, low integrity impact, and no availability impact. The vulnerability requires low attack complexity and privileges with user interaction.

Mitigation Recommendations

Users should upgrade openclaw CLI to version 2026.3.31 or later, where the SSRF vulnerability has been fixed. No additional mitigation steps are required as the fix is official and available.
