Source: GCVE Database
Product: openclaw-cli

Description

A vulnerability in the openclaw-cli package (versions up to 2026.3.24) allows Telegram direct message (DM)-scoped inline button callbacks to bypass normal DM pairing authorization and mutate session state. This flaw was fixed in version 2026.3.25 by enforcing proper DM authorization for callback queries.

Technical Analysis

The openclaw-cli package prior to version 2026.3.25 has a security flaw where Telegram callback queries from direct messages used weaker callback-only authorization. This allowed these callbacks to mutate session state without satisfying the usual DM pairing requirements. The issue was identified and fixed in commit 269282ac69ab6030d5f30d04822668f607f13065, which enforces DM authorization for callbacks, preventing unauthorized session state mutation.

Potential Impact

An attacker could exploit this vulnerability to mutate session state via Telegram DM-scoped inline button callbacks without proper DM pairing authorization. This impacts the integrity of session state but does not affect confidentiality or availability. The CVSS score is 5.3 (medium severity), reflecting limited impact confined to integrity.

Mitigation Recommendations

A patch is available and should be applied by upgrading openclaw-cli to version 2026.3.25 or later. This update enforces proper DM authorization for Telegram callback queries, mitigating the vulnerability.
