Description

OpenClaw CLI versions from 2026.1.29 up to but not including 2026.3.28 contain a vulnerability where removing a device or revoking its token does not terminate active WebSocket sessions. Technical Analysis

The vulnerability (CVE-2026-34503) in OpenClaw CLI involves the failure to disconnect active WebSocket sessions when a device is removed or its token revoked. Although stored credentials are updated, already authenticated WebSocket connections remain active, allowing continued access by revoked devices until session reconnection. The flaw affects the gateway server methods handling device sessions and was fixed in version 2026.3.28 by introducing disconnection of revoked device sessions.

Potential Impact

Revoked devices can continue to access the system through existing WebSocket sessions despite credential revocation, potentially extending unauthorized access until the session is re-established. This impacts confidentiality but does not affect integrity or availability according to the CVSS vector.

Mitigation Recommendations

A patch is available and included in OpenClaw CLI version 2026.3.28 and later. Users should upgrade to version 2026.3.28 or newer to ensure active WebSocket sessions are properly terminated upon device removal or token revocation.
