Openclaw cli: OpenClaw's Discord component interaction ingress skips guild/channel policy enforcement (CVE-2026-41367)
Description
OpenClaw CLI's Discord component interaction ingress failed to consistently enforce guild and channel policies that normally apply to inbound messages. This allowed users to trigger privileged component actions in contexts that should have been blocked by Discord channel policy. The vulnerability affects versions from 2026.2.14 up to but not including 2026.3.28. The issue was fixed in version 2026.3.28 by applying the correct policy gates to component interactions.

Technical Analysis
The vulnerability in OpenClaw CLI (CVE-2026-41367) involves the Discord component interaction ingress not consistently reapplying guild and channel policy enforcement that is normally applied to inbound messages. This inconsistency allowed users to bypass Discord channel policies and trigger privileged component actions from unauthorized contexts. The affected code component is located in `extensions/discord/src/monitor/agent-components.ts`. The issue was resolved in version 2026.3.28 by commit 511093d4b3, which ensures component interaction policy gates are properly applied.
Potential Impact
Users could perform privileged Discord component actions from contexts that should have been blocked by channel policies, potentially leading to unauthorized actions within Discord guilds and channels. This bypass of policy enforcement could allow privilege escalation or unauthorized command execution within the affected OpenClaw CLI Discord integration.
Mitigation Recommendations
A patch is available and should be applied. Versions 2026.3.28 and later contain the fix that properly enforces guild and channel policy gates on Discord component interactions. Users should upgrade to version 2026.3.28 or later to remediate this vulnerability.
