Published: 08/13/2026 (08/13/2026, 17:21:32 UTC)
Source: GCVE Database
Product: openclaw-cli

Description

OpenClaw CLI versions 2026.2.22 and 2026.2.23 contain an authorization flaw in the synology-chat channel plugin. When the dmPolicy is set to allowlist but the allowedUserIds list is empty or unset, unauthorized Synology senders can dispatch agents. This issue requires specific plugin setup and sender access, leading to a medium severity classification. The vulnerability is fixed in version 2026.2.24.

Technical Analysis

In openclaw versions 2026.2.22 and 2026.2.23, the synology-chat channel plugin's dmPolicy=allowlist setting failed open if allowedUserIds was empty or unset. This caused unauthorized senders to bypass intended restrictions and dispatch agents. The root cause was a mismatch in policy handling where an empty allowlist was treated as allow-all, leading to unintended open access for inbound Synology senders. The issue was resolved in version 2026.2.24 with specific fix commits.

Potential Impact

Unauthorized Synology senders can dispatch agents or trigger downstream tool actions despite the allowlist policy being configured, potentially leading to unauthorized operations within the affected environment. The impact is limited by the need for specific channel/plugin configuration and Synology sender access.

Mitigation Recommendations

A patch is available in openclaw version 2026.2.24. Users should upgrade to this version to remediate the vulnerability. No additional mitigation actions are required beyond applying the official fix.
