Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-100557 describes an authorization bypass vulnerability in OpenClaw versions before 2026.8.1. The issue occurs in the skill tool dispatch component, which does not properly propagate the sender's owner status. As a result, non-owner senders who are authorized to invoke skill commands can improperly access tools and server credentials that should be restricted to owners only.

Potential Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows non-owner users with permission to invoke skill commands to gain unauthorized access to owner-only tools and sensitive server credentials. This can lead to high confidentiality and integrity impacts, as well as a low availability impact, given the CVSS vector indicating high impact on confidentiality and integrity and low impact on availability.

Mitigation Recommendations

A fix is available in OpenClaw version 2026.8.1. Users should upgrade to version 2026.8.1 or later to remediate this vulnerability. No other mitigation guidance is provided or required as the issue is resolved by the official patch.
