A patch is available and should be applied to affected Perl versions. Red Hat has released updated packages addressing this vulnerability. Users should update to the fixed versions as provided by their vendor. No additional mitigation actions are specified or required.
Description
Perl versions through 5.43.10 contain an integer overflow vulnerability in the S_measure_struct function used by pack and unpack operations. This vulnerability can cause an out-of-bounds heap read when processing specially crafted templates with large repeat counts, potentially exposing sensitive heap memory data. A patch is available to address this issue.
