AI-suggested

Upgrade to pypdf version 6.21.4 or later to apply the official fix. If upgrading is not immediately feasible, apply the changes from pull request #4288 as a temporary workaround.

Description

A vulnerability in psutils' pypdf library allows an attacker to craft a PDF that triggers an infinite loop when cloning or duplicating a DictionaryObject. This can cause denial of service by exhausting resources. The issue affects versions 3.0 and later and has been fixed in pypdf version 6.21.4.
