Python aiohttp: Prior to 3.14.1, during cleanup it is possible for a compressed request body to be decompressed into memory in one chunk. (CVE-2026-54278)
Description
A vulnerability in python-aiohttp prior to version 3.14.1 allows a compressed request body to be decompressed into memory in one chunk during cleanup. This can potentially lead to a denial-of-service (DoS) condition, such as a zip bomb edge case. The issue is fixed in version 3.14.1.

Technical Analysis
Python aiohttp versions prior to 3.14.1 contain a vulnerability where, during cleanup, a compressed request body may be decompressed entirely into memory in a single chunk. An attacker could exploit this by sending a specially crafted compressed payload that triggers excessive memory consumption, potentially causing a denial-of-service. This vulnerability is addressed in aiohttp version 3.14.1.
Potential Impact
The vulnerability can lead to denial-of-service (DoS) conditions by exhausting server memory when processing a compressed request body. There is no impact on confidentiality or integrity. No known exploits are reported in the wild.
Mitigation Recommendations
Upgrade to python-aiohttp version 3.14.1 or later, where this vulnerability is fixed. No other mitigation is indicated by the vendor advisory.
