Python aiohttp: Prior to version 3.14.0, cookies set with the cookies parameter on requests are sent after following a cross-origin redirect. (CVE-2026-47265)
Description
Python aiohttp versions prior to 3.14.0 have a vulnerability where cookies set via the cookies parameter on requests are sent after following a cross-origin redirect. This behavior can lead to sensitive cookie data being leaked if an attacker controls the redirect. Version 3.14.0 addresses this issue. Using a Cookie header in the headers parameter is not vulnerable.

Technical Analysis
The aiohttp asynchronous HTTP client/server framework for Python versions before 3.14.0 improperly send cookies set with the cookies parameter after following cross-origin redirects. This can cause sensitive cookie data to be leaked to attackers who control the redirect destination. The vulnerability is fixed in version 3.14.0. As a workaround, using the Cookie header in the headers parameter avoids the vulnerability.
Potential Impact
Sensitive cookie data may be leaked to an attacker controlling a cross-origin redirect, potentially exposing confidential information. The vulnerability does not affect integrity or availability but impacts confidentiality.
Mitigation Recommendations
Upgrade to aiohttp version 3.14.0 or later, where the issue is patched. If upgrading is not possible, avoid using the cookies parameter on requests and instead set cookies via the Cookie header in the headers parameter, which is not vulnerable.
