Upgrade Authlib to version 1.9.0 or later, where this issue is fixed. If upgrading is not immediately possible, ensure that any custom implementation of the get_request_object() hook applies strict allowlists, destination controls, and retrieval limits to prevent unauthorized outbound fetches. No other mitigation is indicated.
Description
Authlib, a Python library for OAuth and OpenID Connect servers, has a vulnerability in versions prior to 1.9.0 where the RFC 9101 JWTAuthenticationRequest passes an unauthenticated, client-controlled request_uri parameter to a hook before applying destination or registration policies. This can allow a remote attacker with a valid public client ID to make the authorization server fetch unintended internal or link-local URLs and infer information from error responses and timing differences. The issue is fixed in version 1.9.0.
