Rabbitmq server: RabbitMQ is a messaging and streaming broker. (CVE-2026-67225)
Description
RabbitMQ versions from 3.13.0 up to but not including 3.13.15, and versions 4.0.20, 4.1.11, and 4.2.6 contain a vulnerability in the stream protocol. The FrameMax value negotiated during the Tune handshake was stored but not validated against inbound frame lengths, allowing a remote client to send oversized frames. This can cause excessive memory usage and lead to denial of service. The issue is fixed in versions 3.13.15, 4.0.20, 4.1.11, and 4.2.6.

Technical Analysis
The RabbitMQ messaging broker's stream protocol in versions 3.13.0 through 3.13.14, and certain 4.x versions, improperly handled the FrameMax value negotiated during the Tune handshake. It stored this value but did not verify that incoming frames' declared lengths were within this limit before buffering. This flaw allows a remote client to declare an oversized frame, causing excessive memory consumption and potentially resulting in a denial of service condition. The vulnerability is addressed in RabbitMQ versions 3.13.15, 4.0.20, 4.1.11, and 4.2.6.
Potential Impact
A remote attacker can exploit this vulnerability by sending frames with declared lengths larger than the negotiated FrameMax value, causing the server to allocate excessive memory. This can lead to resource exhaustion and denial of service, impacting availability of the RabbitMQ service.
Mitigation Recommendations
This vulnerability is fixed in RabbitMQ versions 3.13.15, 4.0.20, 4.1.11, and 4.2.6. Users should upgrade to these or later versions to remediate the issue. No other mitigation is indicated by the vendor advisory.
