Rabbitmq server: RabbitMQ is a messaging and streaming broker. (CVE-2026-67412)
Description
CVE-2026-67412 is a vulnerability in RabbitMQ server's Federation upstream feature that allows a policymaker on one virtual host (vhost) to read and drain messages from another vhost without proper authorization. This breaks the intended vhost tenancy isolation. The issue affects RabbitMQ versions from 3.13.0 up to but not including 4.3.3, 4.2.9, 4.1.14, 4.0.24, and 3.13.18, where it has been fixed.

Technical Analysis
RabbitMQ's Federation upstream feature fails to properly enforce vhost authorization, allowing cross-vhost message access. Specifically, a policymaker on one vhost can read and consume messages from another vhost it does not have permission to access. The default acknowledgment mode causes source messages to be consumed (deleted) rather than copied, leading to unauthorized message draining. This vulnerability affects RabbitMQ versions from 3.13.0 until the fixed versions 4.3.3, 4.2.9, 4.1.14, 4.0.24, and 3.13.18.
Potential Impact
An attacker or user with policymaker privileges on one vhost can bypass vhost isolation and read or drain messages from another vhost without authorization. This compromises message confidentiality and integrity between vhosts. The messages are consumed from the source, resulting in potential data loss for the affected vhost. There is no indication of impact on availability or privilege escalation beyond the cross-vhost message access.
Mitigation Recommendations
This vulnerability is fixed in RabbitMQ versions 4.3.3, 4.2.9, 4.1.14, 4.0.24, and 3.13.18. Users should upgrade to one of these versions or later to remediate the issue. No other mitigation or workaround is indicated in the advisory.
