Rabbitmq server: RabbitMQ is a messaging and streaming broker. (CVE-2026-67413)
Description
CVE-2026-67413 affects RabbitMQ server versions prior to 4.0.23, 4.1.14, 4.2.9, and 4.3.3 when using the optional rabbitmq_jms_topic_exchange plugin. The vulnerability arises from the x-jms-topic exchange accepting a client-controlled binding expression that uses a LIKE evaluator expanding wildcards into overlapping PCRE fragments. This leads to unbounded execution of regular expressions without limits, allowing an authenticated tenant with binding and publishing permissions to consume excessive CPU resources and cause denial of service. The issue is fixed in RabbitMQ versions 4.0.23, 4.1.14, 4.2.9, and 4.3.3.

Technical Analysis
RabbitMQ server versions from 4.0.0 up to but not including 4.0.23, 4.1.14, 4.2.9, and 4.3.3 are vulnerable in the rabbitmq_jms_topic_exchange plugin's x-jms-topic exchange. The vulnerability is due to the LIKE evaluator expanding percent and underscore wildcards into overlapping PCRE fragments, which are executed using re:run/3 without match or recursion limits. This allows an authenticated tenant who can bind and publish to the exchange to cause excessive CPU consumption on the broker scheduler, resulting in a denial of service condition. The vulnerability has been addressed in the specified fixed versions.
Potential Impact
An authenticated tenant with permissions to bind and publish to the x-jms-topic exchange can exploit this vulnerability to cause excessive CPU consumption on the RabbitMQ broker scheduler. This results in denial of service, potentially impacting availability of messaging services. There is no indication of privilege escalation, data disclosure, or code execution beyond resource exhaustion.
Mitigation Recommendations
This vulnerability is fixed in RabbitMQ server versions 4.0.23, 4.1.14, 4.2.9, and 4.3.3. Users should upgrade to one of these versions or later to remediate the issue. No other mitigations are indicated by the vendor advisory.
