For ZTWIM, ensure all previously released errata relevant to your system are applied before installing the operator. Use the default 'Automatic' approval policy to enable automatic operator upgrades or manually approve upgrades if using 'Manual' policy. For the Go crypto/x509 vulnerability, follow the detailed mitigation procedures in the Red Hat security bulletin RHSB-2026:012. No additional action is required if the operator is set to automatic upgrade and up to date.

Description

CVE-2026-33818 and CVE-2026-111943 relate to vulnerabilities in the Zero Trust Workload Identity Manager (ZTWIM) for Red Hat OpenShift and the Go crypto/x509 package, respectively. ZTWIM is a day-2 operator managing workload identities in multi-cloud environments. The Go crypto/x509 flaw allows improper certificate validation, enabling man-in-the-middle attacks via untrusted intermediate certificates. Red Hat has released ZTWIM version 1.0.4 as Generally Available. The Go crypto/x509 vulnerability is rated Important with a CVSS score of 6.8 by Red Hat. No explicit patch for ZTWIM vulnerabilities is mentioned, but operator upgrades are managed automatically or manually depending on policy. The Go crypto/x509 issue requires network positioning and specific certificates for exploitation, limiting widespread abuse.
