What to do

AI-suggested

Users should monitor Red Hat advisories for updates. Since the issue primarily affects applications that cancel queries concurrently, avoiding such query patterns may reduce exposure. Customers with Red Hat Technical Account Managers (TAM) can seek further guidance. No additional mitigations are recommended by Red Hat at this time.

Description

A race condition vulnerability exists in the database/sql package used by the Assisted Installer RHEL 8 components for the Multicluster Engine for Kubernetes 2.9.1. This flaw occurs when concurrent queries are cancelled during a Scan method call on returned Rows, potentially causing inconsistent data to be returned to applications. The vulnerability is rated as moderate severity by Red Hat and primarily affects applications that cancel queries while running multiple concurrent queries. No fix is currently available that meets Red Hat's criteria for ease of use, applicability, and stability.
