AI-suggested

Red Hat has released updated BIND packages for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.4 that address these vulnerabilities. Users should apply the official Red Hat update RHSA-2026:95241 promptly to remediate these security issues. No additional mitigations are indicated beyond applying the vendor-provided patches.

Description

Multiple security vulnerabilities have been identified and fixed in the Berkeley Internet Name Domain (BIND) software, which implements DNS protocols. The issues include several denial of service (DoS) vulnerabilities via crafted DNS messages, DNSSEC replies, DNS64 responses, and assertion failures during redirect and RPZ query processing. Additionally, an arbitrary code execution vulnerability via GSS-TSIG UDP message replay has been addressed. These vulnerabilities affect Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.4 and related distributions. The update also includes bug fixes and enhancements such as avoiding costly reloads and adding a new root trust anchor key for DNSSEC.
