Red Hat has released updated bind9.16 packages for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.6 that address these vulnerabilities. Users should apply the provided security update (bind9.16-9.16.23-0.7.el8_6.12) promptly to remediate the issues. Description
Multiple security vulnerabilities have been identified and fixed in BIND 9.16, the Berkeley Internet Name Domain DNS implementation used in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.6. These include several denial of service (DoS) issues triggered by specially crafted DNS messages, DNSSEC replies, DNS64 responses, and assertion failures during redirect and RPZ query processing. Additionally, an arbitrary code execution vulnerability via GSS-TSIG UDP message replay was addressed. The update also includes bug fixes and enhancements to improve stability. These issues have been rated as important by Red Hat Product Security.
