Red Hat has released updated packages for bubblewrap and flatpak for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.6 to fix this vulnerability. Description
A security vulnerability (CVE-2024-42472) affects bubblewrap and flatpak on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.6. The flaw allows applications using the persistent= (--persist) option in flatpak to access files outside their sandbox. Bubblewrap is a setuid binary used for unprivileged container execution on kernels without user namespaces. Red Hat has issued an important security advisory with updates to bubblewrap and flatpak to address this issue.
