AI-suggested

Red Hat has released an official security update for fence-agents in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.2 Extended Update Support that addresses this vulnerability. Users should apply the update as described in the Red Hat advisory (RHSA-2024:5633) to remediate the issue. No additional mitigation steps are required beyond applying the official patch.

Description

A security update for the fence-agents package in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.2 addresses a vulnerability in the urllib3 library where the proxy-authorization request header is not stripped during cross-origin redirects (CVE-2024-37891). This issue could potentially lead to unintended disclosure of proxy credentials during redirects. The update is rated as having a moderate security impact. The fence-agents package is used for remote power management in cluster environments, allowing failed or unreachable nodes to be forcibly restarted and removed from the cluster.
