What to do

AI-suggested

Red Hat has released an updated fence-agents package that addresses this vulnerability. Users should apply the security update as described in the Red Hat advisory RHSA-2026:1903 to remediate the issue. No additional mitigation steps are indicated by the vendor.

Description

A denial of service vulnerability exists in the pyasn1 library used by the fence-agents packages in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9. This flaw is caused by memory exhaustion triggered by a malformed RELATIVE-OID. The fence-agents packages manage remote power control for cluster nodes, allowing failed or unreachable nodes to be forcibly restarted and removed from clusters. Red Hat has issued a security update to address this issue.
