Description

A denial of service vulnerability (CVE-2026-23490) exists in the pyasn1 component used by the fence-agents packages in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.6 Extended Update Support. The flaw is caused by memory exhaustion triggered by malformed RELATIVE-OID data. Fence-agents are scripts that manage remote power control for cluster nodes, allowing failed or unreachable nodes to be forcibly restarted and removed from the cluster. Red Hat has issued a security update to address this issue.
