What to do

AI-suggested

Red Hat has released updated FreeRDP packages for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.4 that address these vulnerabilities. Users should apply these official updates as detailed in the Red Hat advisory (https://access.redhat.com/articles/11258) to remediate the issues. No additional mitigation steps are indicated beyond applying the provided patches.

Description

Multiple security vulnerabilities have been identified in FreeRDP, a free implementation of the Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP). These include memory disclosure, denial of service, heap out-of-bounds read, and a heap-buffer-overflow that allows arbitrary code execution. The vulnerabilities can be triggered via crafted RDP update orders, smartcard cache requests, and RPC responses. Red Hat has issued an important security update addressing these issues in FreeRDP packages for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.4.
