What to do

AI-suggested

Red Hat has released updated packages for FreeRDP in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.6 that fix these vulnerabilities. Users should apply the provided security updates as detailed in the Red Hat advisory (https://access.redhat.com/articles/11258) to remediate these issues. No additional mitigation steps are indicated beyond applying the official patches.

Description

Two security vulnerabilities in FreeRDP, a free implementation of the Remote Desktop Protocol, allow arbitrary code execution due to heap out-of-bounds write and heap buffer overflow conditions. These issues affect the RLE planar decode path and the GDI surface pipeline components of FreeRDP. Red Hat has released security updates addressing these vulnerabilities in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.6 variants.
