AI-suggested

Red Hat has released official security updates to address these vulnerabilities. Users should apply the freerdp update provided in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9 and related products as described in Red Hat advisory RHSA-2026:8457 and the referenced article https://access.redhat.com/articles/11258. Applying these updates will remediate the heap buffer overflow and denial of service issues. No additional mitigation steps are required beyond applying the official patches.

Description

Two security vulnerabilities have been identified in FreeRDP, a free implementation of the Remote Desktop Protocol used in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9 and related products. The first is a heap buffer overflow that could allow arbitrary code execution via crafted pixel data (CVE-2026-33984). The second is a denial of service vulnerability triggered by specially crafted RDP messages (CVE-2026-33983). Red Hat has issued a security advisory with an update to address these issues.
