What to do
AI-suggested
Red Hat has released security updates for FreeRDP in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9 and its extended update support versions. Users should apply the provided patches as detailed in the Red Hat advisory (RHSA-2026:61379) to remediate these vulnerabilities. No additional mitigation steps are indicated beyond applying the official updates.
Description
Multiple security vulnerabilities have been identified in FreeRDP, a free implementation of the Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) used by the xfreerdp client. These include memory disclosure, denial of service, heap out-of-bounds read, and a heap-buffer-overflow that allows arbitrary code execution. Red Hat has issued an important security update for FreeRDP in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9 to address these issues.
