AI-suggested

Red Hat has released updated Ghostscript packages that fix these vulnerabilities. Users should apply the security update for Ghostscript on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10 and related distributions as described in the Red Hat advisory (RHSA-2026:83551). No additional mitigations are specified beyond applying the official patch.

Description

Two security vulnerabilities have been identified in the Ghostscript suite used for rendering PostScript and PDF documents. The first is a sandbox bypass via an out-of-bounds write and use-after-free in the -dSAFER mode (CVE-2026-101258). The second is a stack-based buffer overflow in the pdfwrite device triggered by crafted font data (CVE-2026-103226). These issues could allow an attacker to bypass security restrictions or cause memory corruption. Red Hat has issued an important security update for Ghostscript in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10 to address these vulnerabilities.
