AI-suggested

Red Hat has released security updates for Ghostscript in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 and related products that address these vulnerabilities. Users should apply the available official patches as detailed in Red Hat advisory RHSA-2026:83552 and the referenced article https://access.redhat.com/articles/11258. Applying these updates will remediate the vulnerabilities. No additional mitigation steps are indicated by the vendor advisory.

Description

Two security vulnerabilities have been identified in the Ghostscript suite used for rendering PostScript and PDF documents. The first is a sandbox bypass via a Type 5 shading out-of-bounds write and procedure-stream use-after-free (CVE-2026-101258). The second is a stack-based buffer overflow in the pdfwrite device triggered by crafted font data (CVE-2026-103226). These issues could allow attackers to bypass sandbox restrictions or cause memory corruption. Red Hat has released security updates addressing these vulnerabilities in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 and related products.
