AI-suggested

Red Hat has released security updates for Ghostscript in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9 and related variants that address these vulnerabilities. Users should apply the provided updates as detailed in Red Hat advisory RHSA-2026:83553 and the referenced article https://access.redhat.com/articles/11258 to remediate these issues. No additional mitigation steps are indicated beyond applying the official patches.

Description

Two security vulnerabilities were identified in the Ghostscript suite used for rendering PostScript and PDF documents. The first is a sandbox bypass via an out-of-bounds write and use-after-free in Type 5 shading (CVE-2026-101258). The second is a stack-based buffer overflow in the pdfwrite device triggered by crafted font data (CVE-2026-103226). These issues could allow an attacker to bypass security restrictions or cause memory corruption. Red Hat has released security updates addressing these vulnerabilities in Ghostscript for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9 and related variants.
