AI-suggested
Red Hat has released updated gstreamer1-plugins-bad-free packages for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9 and related variants that address these vulnerabilities. Users should apply the security update as detailed in the Red Hat advisory RHSA-2026:47179 and the referenced article https://access.redhat.com/articles/11258 to remediate these issues. No additional mitigation steps are indicated beyond applying the official patches.
Description
Two security vulnerabilities were addressed in the gstreamer1-plugins-bad-free package for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9. The first is a heap out-of-bounds write in the rfbsrc/librfb Hextile code when handling 16bpp framebuffers (CVE-2026-59691). The second is a stack buffer overflow in the DTLS certificate Subject DN verification callback in OpenSSL (CVE-2026-59692). These issues could lead to memory corruption and potential security risks. Red Hat has released updated packages to fix these vulnerabilities.
