AI-suggested
Red Hat has released updated gstreamer1-plugins-bad-free packages that address these vulnerabilities. Users of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.4 should apply the security update RHSA-2026:54658 promptly to remediate these issues. Detailed update instructions are available at https://access.redhat.com/articles/11258. No additional mitigations are indicated by the vendor advisory.
Description
Two security vulnerabilities were identified in the gstreamer1-plugins-bad-free package used in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.4. The first is a heap out-of-bounds write in the rfbsrc/librfb component when handling 16bpp framebuffer data (CVE-2026-59691). The second is a stack buffer overflow in the openssl_verify_callback function related to DTLS certificate Subject DN processing (CVE-2026-59692). These issues could potentially lead to memory corruption or crashes. Red Hat has issued an important security update to address these flaws in the affected packages.
